making music

I recorded a few songs for an EP for my friend Nick Flora at the beginning of last week. The mixes aren't final, but he's posted them on his MySpace. I think they're pretty great and worth a listen if you have a few minutes.

A few days later I started producing a new project for Ellie Laveer, from South Carolina. We've cut drums and bass and the bulk of the acoustics, and it feels like it's going to be a great record.

I've psuedo-moved in to the B Room at Sputnik for a temporary long-term stay. I've been working there just under a week now and it's been wonderful. Not only is there great gear and I don't have to worry about nap time during guitar solos, but there are other people all over the place making music. It's amazing working in community. And it's actually kind of great to have a drive to work. I never thought I'd say that.

I'm super wiped out, so I'm going to head to bed early tonight. Maybe read a little old Harry Potter. Got to get ready for Book 7, you know?
